England v India Test Series Betting Tips

England vs India Test Series

It is the five-match series we have all been waiting for in this glorious summer of sport, starting on August 4th. Should you bet on India to win or draw? Where can you get the best odds? What welcome bonus should you claim? We will tell you.

Latest Cricket News

There are fears for the series due to rising Covid cases. Unfortunately India’s preparations have been hit by infections. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant along with training assistant Dayanand Garani have returned positive test results.

The good news is that the cricketer Pant has almost finished his quarantine period and is expected to meet up with the rest of his Indian teammates in Durham.

COVID Is Affecting The Indian Cricket Team

However, there is a discipline issue as Pant shared pictures of himself at the England-German Euros match despite the management telling players to avoid crowded sporting events due to the alarming spike in UK covid cases, widely attributed to the Delta variant.

Alas Garani has been identified as having been in close contact with Bharat Arun, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran. The Indian cricket team have had a 20-day break in the UK since the World Test Championship Final defeat by New Zealand.

India seem to have learned the lesson and its team will now be in a micro-bubble. However, England is not doing that because the players were apparently “fed up” doing so and it was impacting on their “mental health”. Which to BetGold is nuts: what about their physical health, and that of others, including their opponents?

England v India Test Series Winner Predictions

India won the series back in 2007 but since that time have lost three series away from home, and by quite big margins.
India and England are two fairly well balanced sides, and have been for some years: essentially, when the series is in India, India wins comfortably; when it is in England, the hosts also come out on top.

The last three results on English soil do not make for happy reading to Indian eyes: 1-4, 1-3, 0-4.
India’s former captain Rahul Dravid dismisses such talk, saying it’s important to look at the cricket teams today, and he feels India have “a very good chance”.

While he acknowledges that England have a very strong seam attack, he is less convinced by their batting line-up.
He points out that of their blade-smiths, only Joe Root could be described as genuinely world class. This should give India opportunities.

With India having achieved an historic triumph in Australia and beating England at home, Dravid predicts India will win 3-2.

England v India 2021 Test Series Odds

  • Typically England are evens to win.
  • A draw is 11/2.
  • India: 13/10

BetGold verdict: we think that India is in with a real chance of overturning the history books and beating England.
