With the beginning of January, Europe’s winter transfer window has officially opened with a number of teams around the old continent looking to strengthen their football squads. There have already been some big (and surprising) moves to happen including the likes of Mario Balotelli and Dominik Szoboszlai, whilst there have been some rather interesting rumours to have emerged involving clubs from the English Premier League, Germany’s 1. Bundesliga, Spain’s LaLiga, Italy’s Serie A and France’s Ligue 1.

Germany 1. Bundesliga Transfers And Rumours January 2021

The top football division in Germany, the Bundesliga has a number of talented players that will be subject to a number of January transfer rumours, however Dominik Szoboszlai is not one of them. The Hungary’s international midfielder has already completed a move to RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg, whilst Sead Kolasinac has also completed a loan move to struggling Schalke 04. The Gelsenkirchen outfit, though, have seen Rabbi Matondo join Stoke City on a loan deal.

Nonetheless, there are still plenty of opportunities for football clubs in the german 1. Bundesliga to get involved with the transfer market this month, whilst some of the biggest players continue to be linked with moves away from Germany’s football league. Men such as Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt, Jadon Sancho and Erling Braut Haaland continue to be subject to transfer rumours, with the last being linked to Chelsea. RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer appears to be interesting to Tottenham Hotspur.

English Premier League Winter Market January 2021

Speaking of football clubs in the Premier League, it is guaranteed that there will be some transfer movement in January’s winter market, despite it being rather difficult to complete deals in the first month of the year. Some of the biggest transfer deals currently are Arsenal’s former playmaker, Mesut Ozil, that has finally come to terms with his childhood favorite football team, Fenerbahçe. Also William Saliba has already left the Gunners for Nice on loan.

Manchester United have already sealed Amad Diallo from Atalanta BC, whilst Odion Ighalo looks set to leave Old Trafford this month in the winter transfer market.

Chelsea had a busy summer transfer window, although the Blues could be involved once again as Frank Lampard’s football side are yet to perform as well as many would have expected after their big recruitment drive.

Italy Serie A Transfers & Rumours January 2021

Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, though, as Juventus and AC Milan are rumoured to be interested in the France international in this football transfer window and may try to bring him to the Serie A during Winter’s market. The forward has been superb when given the chance, although opportunities have been few and far between at times.

Joakim Maehle has already made the switch from Belgium to Italy as he joined Atalanta from Genk in this 20/21 winter football transfer market, whereas Mario Balotelli perhaps made the biggest switch as he joined A.C. Monza just prior to the transfer market. The striker has had a troubled career but it seems he is prepared to get his head down in Serie B and work his way back to the level he was once at by playing football out of the limelight.

Transfers will be expected to take place in Spain’s La Liga, with a handful of top football teams having already made deals between them. French Ligue 1 Transfers & Rumours January 2021

Ligue 1 will see plenty of transfer movement happen in the winter transfer market this season, with football clubs having made additions already. Paris Saint-Germain managed to acquire Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager and the Argentine could be tempted to delve into the transfer market. Players such as Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli could be on his radar after working with them at Spurs.
