Spanish La Liga Betting Guide 21/22

La Liga Betting Guide

The forthcoming La Liga season has been rocked by revived talk of a European super-league led by the Spanish giants. Could this really be the last La Liga as we know it? It promises to be one of the most exciting yet as Real Madrid and Barcelona try to reassert their supremacy after upstarts Atletico Madrid stole the title last season.

La Liga Champions League Challengers

La Liga’s title is always fought out by a very small number of clubs. We know Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will be near the very top, but are there any other realistic challengers for the title this season for you to bet on?

Nope, not really. That said, Sevilla is well run and Villareal have a decent team so both these clubs should be a good bet for a Champions League place.

Valencia will aim to get back near the top of the league as they see themselves as one of the Spanish “big boys”, but given they have money issues, we would not bet on that.

Real Mallorca, Espanyol, Cádiz and Elche will just try to avoid relegation. Consider betting on any one of these clubs for relegation.

Real Betis are 100/1 to win La Liga while Athletic Bilbao’s odds are in the 150/1-200/1 range

Transfer News Impacting La Liga Odds

Barcelona are €1.2bn in debt – hence their obsession with creating a European super league – and imposing a wage freeze. This required even Messi to take a wage cut to renew his contract. But they have still managed to sign the goal machine that Sergio Aguero, along with Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia for free and Emerson for €9m.

They are also signing Kays Ruiz-Atil and Jordi Escobar. So Barca should be very good candidates to win La Liga.

Our Golden Tip – Barcelona to Win La Liga

Real Madrid fans are getting excited due to the signing of not a player but a manager, in the form of the mercurial Carlo Ancelotti. Leaked recordings of boardroom ugly business is the only cloud on the horizon as Real Madrid look to win their 35th La Liga title; incredible.

Robert Lewandowski is open to moving to Los Blancos but that is unlikely to be this close season.

Atletico captured Rodrigo De Paul.
